Saving forests

When there are big problems, we think we cannot do anything. We wait for the government to do something. We wait for big companies to do something. We wait for people with lots of money to do something.
     But what if we can solve (निराकरण) these problems best of all?

     * STORY #1

     Anil and Pamela Malhotra love India. They love nature (निसर्ग). They have a home in  Kodagu in southwest India. The husband and wife buy (खरेदी) land from farmers who do not want it any more. Anil and Pamela buy the farmers' land to help nature.  Now they have 300 acres (एकर) of land.  It is home to Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, hyena, wild boar, leopards, sambhar and over 300 kinds of birds. This home is called SAI Sanctuary (अभयारण्य).

     The animals need (गरज) the forest (वन) and the forest needs the animals.  India also needs such (अशा) forests. Forests help the air. They help bring rain. Rain forests produce (निर्मिती) over 50% of all the rainfall in India. When we save (जतन) forests we are helping to save all life, even human life.

     People come to visit the sanctuary and learn how they can do something good too.  Anil and Pamela say to people, “If you want to bring change, have one goal and believe (विश्वास) that you can achieve (साध्य) it!”
